Who are we?

The Swiss Association of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (SAVO) is a group of veterinarians specializing in ophthalmology. Our aim is to provide the best possible veterinary care for your pet's eye conditions and to prevent their hereditary diseases. Similar to humans, it is now common in veterinary medicine for specialists to dedicate themselves to the sometimes highly complex diseases and therapies of eyes. Accordingly, general veterinarians refer certain cases that exceed their examination capabilities or expertise.

All our members have completed comprehensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases in animals (ECVO - European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists or ACVO - American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists) and are constantly undergoing further training.

We offer veterinary treatment for all species. Our members specialize in the care of a variety of species, including pets, exotic animals, birds and livestock. Whether it's routine check-ups, preventative measures or specialized treatments, we ensure comprehensive and professional care for every animal.

We work closely with your family vet to ensure the best possible care for your pet. We are here to help you and your pet with any eye problems that arise.
